Ebola Outbreak Trade: Tekmira Pharmaceuticals

The Ebola Virus has been in the headlines recently as it has ravaged through West Africa. It is now in the United States as Dr. Kent Brantly, who contracted the virus while treating patients in West Africa, landed at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, Georgia on Saturday. Ebola can spread rapidly, and at this time there is no vaccine to treat it.

One company that is working on a vaccine is Vancouver, Canada based Tekmira Pharmaceuticals Corporation (NASDAQ:TKMR). Currently the company's vaccine is in Clinical Hold by the FDA, but as you can see from the chart below, TKMR has grabbed speculators attention over the last 2 weeks, by moving from $9 to $14. I will be watching this company's chart pattern in the coming days for an entry signal, but it can also be put on a watchlist to see if the virus is spreading more rapidly than first thought.
